Katie Gardiner

Hello there, my name is Katie Gardiner and I am a full-time student at the University of Bolton, currently in my second year studying for a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula started a long-held fascination with Victorian Britain and Gothic literature of the time; sparkly vampires have nothing on the Count.

I am 39 years old with 2 years' experience. I never thought I would begin a degree in my forties but goes to show age is but a number.

I’m mother of two weirdly wonderful children, three crazy cats, and Mee Maw to my daughter's cat Fester. Married a Ninja.

Some of my work can be seen in The Bolton Review issue 8, ‘Cold and Mums Monologue’, and I have a micro story forthcoming in issue 9, ‘Things That Meant Sumat’.

Most of my work is heavily influenced by my Lancashire and Scottish heritage.
